St Lukes Gardens

 
 

 

Context/ Blooming St Lukes a collaborative project to revive and transform a public garden in Clerkenwell, east London: conceived by Scarlet Projects, and engaging local artists, gardeners, and landscape architects.

Concept/ Process Garden/  inspired by the legacy of the local print industry.  The initial installation was designed with graphic designer Peter Saville: the relative print proportions and colours of CMYK expressed with flowers.

Planted and maintained with representatives of the diverse local community, making a new restful centre in the garden, with sensory experience: fragrant, colourful, sheltered, seasonal.

A new grass turf was also relaid in the garden:  a big communal carpet.
